Self-help books about Abortion

Here are some of the therapeutic books that I have read along the way… written by sympathetic women (none of whom take an anti-abortion stance).

Gardiner, J. (1986). A difficult decision: a compassionate book about abortion. Freedom, California: The Crossing Press.

Kushner, E. (1997).  Experiencing abortion – A weaving of women’s words.  NY/London: Harrington Park Press.

Northrup, C. (2009). Women’s bodies, women’s wisdom – a complete guide to women’s health and wellbeing.  London: Piatkus.

Seftel, L. (2006).  Grief unseen: healing pregnancy loss through the arts.  Jennifer Kingsley Publishers: UK.

Torre-Bueno, A. (1997). Peace after abortion. Pimpernel Press: San Diego, California.

Research about Abortion

Cannold, Leslie. (1998). The abortion myth: feminism, morality, and the hard choices women make. Weslayan University Press of New England: Hanover, NH.

Gilligan, Carol. (1982, 1993). In a different voice: psychological theory and women’s development. Harvard University Press: Cambridge.
